Hello there.

General Kenobi.

I am Miguel Yulo Asuncion, a Filipino-Spanish PhD student at the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Nottingham. With my supervisors Dr. Thomas Sotiriou and Dr. Laura Sberna, I am performing theoretical investigations of black holes beyond General Relativity and the Standard Model.

Before this, I graduated from the MSc Astrophysics program at the University of St Andrews. Here, with supervisors Dr. Keith Horne and Dr. Martin Dominik, I began my work on black holes in Weyl Conformal Gravity, an alternative to Einstein's General Relativity which is used in attempts to ease tensions the between gravitational theory with both quantum field theory and cosmological observations.

During my time at St Andrews, I also conducted a research project on the formation of high mass stars under the supervision of Dr. Ian Bonnell.

I am also a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Physics program at the National Insitute of Physics (NIP), University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD).  During my time as an undergraduate, I was a researcher in the NIP Gravity Group of Dr. Ian Vega. Here, I conducted research on applications of nonlinear dynamical systems and chaos on pulsating stars.

I plan to continue pursuing a career in physics research, using and building upon the love I have for the subject. Specifically, I intend to tackle problems in gravitational physics and related fields. Further information and details of my publications may be found in my CV below.
